I guess it's about that time

As you all (the wonderful 3 of you) know, I am a security officer now for the Tesoro club in PSL. Here is a link to it, if I had not posted one yet: http://www.tesoroclub.com/ It looks like a pretty nice place... if you like those kind of things. For a person not having a PC ad in the paper, I sure am getting people whom I haven't heard from in quite a while needing my assistance. One person I haven't seen in over a year, another in about five months or so and another in about the same amount of time. It's just, well, ironic. Also, in a way, I don't want to deal with "PC stuff" anymore but that won't happen anytime soon I'm sure.

I have an appointment tomorrow to see the academy coordinator. I am almost done with the packet thing I have to fill out and hand out.... almost. I took care of the major stuff, now I just gotta do the 750 word auto and fill in a few more things and copy a couple things, and that's it. Sure, I had two weeks to do it but, you know me by now! ;-)

Welp, I gotta take care of some stuff so I'll hit this blog back up later sometime,

Justin

Since when is a drive-thru a god damn walk-thru?

It's 7Am now, time to update my blog!

I got that new security job and have been working from 6AM-6PM which is why I haven't had a chance this past week to update this at all. I'm up now thinking I had work from 6AM-12PM but I was wrong; it's from 12PM-6PM so I guess I ought to use my time wisely since I'm awake.

The job isn't bad; I get to sit in a shed thing and make sure the people comming through have a pass or decal on their car. If not, they get logged in and I hand them a pass. There are a lot of dead moments when people don't come through at all for an hour and more so I can use that time to catch up on my reading. ;-)

I got that new headliner I ordered installed in my car two days ago. My uncle helped me do it. It looks pretty good.

My Birthday came....... and went! That's all I gotta say about that!

Hmmm... what else is new.....

I went to get drug tested yesterday for the job. It was the first time I ever had a test. I passed of course so that was that.

It's been kinda chilly these past few weeks. It's been a long time since I had the drippage (the running of the nose phrase) and the frost-bit feeling hands. It sucked sitting in that shack at 6-11AM in 40 degree temperature.

Welp, that's all I gotta say for now.....
I'm going to get ready in a bit and get a hair cut and then head to the post office and then..... buy some toilet paper because there is no more. ;-)

Until next year,

Justin

All Done!

The PC is all done except for installing a CD burning program because the CD burning software CD I got with it is.... blank! It wasn't that bad redoing the PC but it was tedious!

Now I gotta get ready soon to head to west palm and take care of that stuff and....... try to stay awake for a few hours more to continue working on the PC and bringing it back and to get my sleep schedule on track. Same time next week, I'll be at the gate!

I may need to bring a long-sleeved shirt because its 50 outside right now! ;-)

Knight, er morning,

Justin

PEEE S!

It only took 10 tries to upload that blog I just did because.... "there were errors" said Blogger! I wonder how long this one will take to upload now.....

Ah...... I have a feeling this isn't going to be a good day but hopefully that will change in a few hours...

I'm on no sleep now! NO SLEEP!

Apparently I took on a job today too big to handle. All I'm going to say is it pisses my penis off and I had a gut feeling I would run into problems with the ATA drive and USB 2.0 bullshit and drivers for the display and other shit like that but no..... I ended up taking on the damn project anyway all to get a damn lexmark printer to work on the machine because it's working fine on the other ones in the house.... Now I have to stay awake all day because I have to be in West Palm by 8AM so there goes my sleep for tonight!

It's just times like these where I want to just take the damn PC and throw it off the cliff!

I'm sure I'll be getting bitched at for a few programs gone too because there is no CD to reinstall them with.. not that the person uses the programs anyways.

Ah.... just when the day was going ok.....

My new home

I found myself a new home to live in because I can't afford to live any place else right now. Here it is below:

It was the biggest one I found for such a great price!! ;-)

Nah, I'm kidding. Since it's been a while, here are a few updates on what has been going on:

I got a new starter for my car from the zone (Auto Zone) and my friend's (Uncle Bri) brother-in-law was finally able to install it for me on Monday evening. Since then, the car has been starting without any problems now. However, the noticed the head gaskets or valve covers leaking (I'm not a mechanic so I'm not sure which one he said) so my uncle is trying to find the invoice from the mechanic who spent the month on my car so we can find out if he touched the engine parts at all; I think he did but my uncle doesn't so I'm not sure. I'm sure he said he install new head gaskets or valve covers or something. I think I should go back in blog to the year 2004 to check on that! ;-)

The big ass box you see above in my room is my new car headliner, along with sun visors and speaker panels. It looks like the same color like the one in my car but darker than the "doeskin" tan which I was trying to get for the whole "KR" conversion but it's still good enough and I can always change it much later! The color is still tan though, which is ok. All I need to do now is find someone who can put it in for me. I called a few upholstery places and one said $75 and it would take 4hrs and another said around $90 and it would only take an 1hr and a 1/2. I may go for the latter place but I'm still looking around. I also got my tail lights I ordered on ebay on the beginning of this week to so that is cool. I am looking for a person to install that too because I don't mess with any of that stuff for fear of breaking it.

I took the BAT and PAT tests on Tuesday of this week. The BAT (Basic Ability Test) was pretty damn easy and 25 of the 125 questions did not count so I'm sure I passed that shit. It was a test of basic police scenarios, grammer questions, and questions with a few graphs and maps, and the last were a few of those psychological questions with finding the shape which fits in the object to the left and which does not fit into it.

The PAT (Physical Ability Test) was also a cake walk. Time to pass was 6:04 (min:sec) and I made it in 4:30. For a person who had not run in a long time and walk much and who just had a cookie to eat in the morning before the tests and waiting until around 5:30p to take the test, that was pretty good. It just consisted of sitting in a car, getting out, opening the trunk to grab the revolver, putting it on the chair, running 220 yards (slow jog), climbing over a 4ft wall, jumping (most people walked) over a few hurdles, zig-zagging through cones, crawling through one spot, dragging a 150lb dummy 100ft, then doing the course all over again backwards, shooting the gun 6 times in each hand, putting it back in the trunk, going back in the car and that's it! The test results will be mailed out in the self-addressed envelope we had to fill out ourselves next week. Unfortunately, I thought I would be able to get into the Police Academy next month but they have to do the background check and I got a packet to fill in and all that so I won't be able to enroll until April or so which is kinda good because...

I got a phone call today while I was at checkers eating my food at around 4PM from a guy at the security place I filled out an application for. I haven't heard from them so I was going to call but now I don't have to which is sweet because I don't like doing that kind of stuff. I have an interview for tomorrow at 10:30a for a security job. That will be sweet because I won't be going to the academy for a while and my PC biz is slow anyway so I can work there full time and start paying off my debts and maybe I'll have enough money left over to fix up my car some more. WOOOHOOO!!! V8 here I come! Ah.... sweet back paint job.... I can't wait! I choose not to believe in the so-called "jinx's" anymore so I'm just going to say whatever and hope for the best! That's part of my new years revolution because it's time for me to revolutionize the "Whole Package"!

Holy shiscabibble! I started this at 10:55PM and its now 3:00AM! I been too busy looking at the ebay site to see if I can find more stuff for cheaper. I was trying to get this center console lid for my car for around $15 because mine has a crack in it but as I bid, I was always outbid by that one dude bidding on it. After it went up to around $30, I said screw it.

That's all I gotta say for now. Tomorrow I will talk about that thing I got a week ago but didn't get a chance to add it here yet and then some....

Night,

Jutin

Got me a new toy to celebrate

Looks like another week flew by! Where does the time go? Sheesh! Nothing much special really happened this week. I fixed a PC for a new person this week and met an old friend I haven't seen in about a year at the place we used to hang out, the good ol' BT! We had a fun time and caught up on a lot of things. We have decided to make that hang out a once or twice a month thing because we don't really see each other anymore.

My car is really starting to take on the roll and life of KITT because it really is starting to have a mind of its own. I drove it to Mc. D one afternoon and all was good. I then had to leave to drop off a PC for someone and for some reason, my baby wouldn't turn over, as in it would keep churning but not totally start. I thought it might be that idle switch thing my uncle told me about the last time because I had that problem last time and put it in neutral and it started. This time, it didn't. I called my uncle Bri and he thought it could be the starter or fuel pump. His brother in law couldn't come over to check it out so I ended up taking the ol' Dragonmobile. I was not used to it anymore because it is much higher than my Firebird and, for some reason, the rear-view mirror was on the back floor with a crack in it so I was kinda pissed off about because, even though it's not my car anymore, I still have feelings for it. But, ah well!

After I came back home, I had my uncle take a look at my car. He too said it might be the starter and popped the hood and was going to try to smack the starter to get it going again but it was blocked under some other "car parts" (I'm not a mechanic and I don't know dip about cars so don't laugh!). After that, he closed the hood and tried to start it again and miraculously, it started..... and started again... and again. So, it's been working ever since but I bought a starter today and am going to have Uncle Bri's brother in law check it out in the morning and probably have him install the new starter I got anyway so I don't have to worry about getting a new one in the future; this one also has a lifetime warranty. When I do that, I will also have him check out the other "car parts" to see if they are in good shape too.

Anywho, enough about that for now.....

Until probably tomorrow,

Justin

The Desert Of Champions

Today wasn't that exciting but I got a call from a client I haven't spoke to in quite a few months who needs my help; I'll be seeing him on Thursday. I also got a call at around 7:30pm for a new person who needs some help with her PC and... a call from another person who has that 10+ year old PC I put another power supply in which doesn't work anymore so I told him his best bet is to let go of it and get a new one. I'll be hearing back from him soon. I also got a call from that classified ad woman asking if I wanted to make any changes before she puts my ad in again. Oh, and I saw someone this morning and helped her out a bit.

Those tests I have to take to get into the academy are next Tuesday. I can't wait to do that and get it over with. I'm sure I'll have no problem with it but it's just something else I need to get off my chest already.

My cousin from New York was down here for a couple weeks. She will be leaving tomorrow morning. I wish I was able to spend more time with her this Christmas but I wasn't able to. Ah well, she'll be back in a few months.

The below is my kind of desert for champions:

Surely I needed to wash that down with some milk, so here is me downin' the whole glass!

NOTE: The above is a video phile and may take a while to download if you are still putting along with a slow dial-up connection.

Die, biatches, DIE!! HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!

I know, I know, bad joke but I just couldn't resist. I was looking for my usual "Dragon" drink but there was none in Winn - Dixie so I got this instead.
A few months ago, I got an email on my old Juno account which I hardly use anymore, which is mostly a spam account now and it said a tsunami was on the way and to look out. Knowing it was a spam joke thing, I sent it to my p00d and he started sending me pics from the website. Here it is, a few months later and, unfortunately it was no joke and a tsunami hit and it hit hard but not here, thank da lord! The hurricanes hit us enough; there is no need for a tsunami to top it off like topping a milk shake off with a cherry!

If you would like to read more about it, click here

That's all I got to say for now.

Until next blurb,

Justin

1 more day until the new year and I'm not prepared and this damn hicky is killing me!

Well, Christmas came and went.. can't complain. As I get older now, the fun of Christmas deplemishes; it's like there is no more "surprise and spontaneity" in opening presents anymore. I mostly know what I want now and that kinda takes the fun out of it. But I'm 23, almost 24, what do I expect now?

I wanted to get the Y2k+4 (almost 5) update done and uploaded by new years but it looks like that isn't going to happen. For a person who has nothing to show for it, I find a lot of ways to always becoming busy doing a whole lotta nothing and even the somethings are not that spectacular. What the heck did I just type in that sentence? Ah, must be the 3rd can of Dr. Pepper talking.

*BRB, Gotta get the 4th! Ok, back!*

I went to West Palm today. It was a fun ride; no trouble finding the place. I went to fill out an application for a security job. Hopefully I can get that job and money will be rolling in soon so I can start paying my debts. I'm planning on working there knights and going to the academy days or something like that. If I could, I would drive around in my car all day if I can get paid for it but I can't, so I won't. :-( You know you are in your dream car if you wouldn't mind spending all day and all knight in it! The Neon I had was OK but just not big enough and cooler enough. ;-) My new soon-to-be Black Beauty is and there is just so much shit I want to do with it but it will take time, which I don't mind because I won't be getting rid of it at all; you might as well bury me in it! Yea, I'm a pretty screwed and obsessed dude who has loves his car more than his girl, which is in his dreams still... or is it??

Well, it's getting late. HOPEFULLY I can have that update by next week, along with my new year revolutions! Keep your fingers crossed!!

Until next time,

Rocque out! Or, as some people say, "Rocque on, son!"

What was once messing, is clean once again

The pic above is the "after" desk pic of the way it "should" look, with the exception of those ATM and bank slips. Also, notice the headline? Well, it's 4:17AM and I didn't get much sleep today so that's why it's like that. It comes to show you how important a good knights rest can be. ;-)

Until next time,

Justin

Why its time to clean my desk

The picture you see above is the state my desk is in right now. I, as most of you would, think now is the time to clean it up a bit. The reason why I need to clean it now is because I just got a envelope in the mail from GMC and it was balance transfer checks. I was wondering why they would send me these type of checks in the mail if I have no card from them. I proceeded to go through my garbage can in my bed then browse on my desk and came across another envelope from GNC and loe and behoe, it had the card in it! Sheesh, and I didn't even know I got one from them. I also just got another from Bank One. I'm not going to use these new ones; they are just for emergencies. What I might do, though, is just take $100 from each and but that money towards the other ones I need to bring down because the interest on these new ones and low. Thats's all I'm going to say for now!

I'll update this sometime later,

Justin

Just a bit Brisk

Well, it's the middle of December now so here is the lovely 2-week stretch of winter here in Fl. I woke up this morning and was actaully quite chilly and the A/C isn't even on! ;-) It's 57 degrees outside now but with the wind, it feels like about 50.

I've been a little busy this week so far. I was supposed to help someone at 9am today but I just couldn't get out of bed that early again because I did it the day before; one day is enough for that nonsense! lol! Also, the dude calls me up at 8:55AM! It didn't even hit 9AM or a little passed to have him call and "wondering" where I was. Sheesh. He didn't leave a message after he called the 2nd time so maybe he wanted to cancel it. The guy was an ass anyway and I didn't want to deal with his nonsense. I am waiting for another phone call right now from this other dude in For Pierce I'm supposed to see and bring some stuff over for him but he has not called yet so I'm just sitting here chillin' like a villin'. I did receive a "Incomming Call" but the person didn't leave a message so screw them.

My cousin's computer is back with her now, along with her cute lil' daughter Kari (she told me to write something about her so there it is!). She's only, um, 13 I think so I have to watch out what I say in this post. ;-)

My car was dripping its blood so I took it to Goodyear. It's been dripping it's life juice for a couple weeks but I finally took it someplace to have it checked. I looked at my baby from below and it wasn't a pretty sight. The blood was dripping on the side of the heart and down to the artery. The Goodyear dude there said it will be $400 to get it fixed. I was like, "well, holy shitballs!" in my head and told him I already had a mechanic who was supposed to have it all fixed so I'll take it back to him. $400 my arse!

I took it to the mechanic to see if he could check it then and there so I can see what was wrong with it and get a price. He, of course, couldn't, so I made an appointment for this Tuesday at, what I thought was, 10AM. He said he get's there at 8AM and I said ok. There is no way I was going to be there at 8AM though, considering I don't go to bed until around 4AM.

This blog will be continued because apparently I was supposed to be at that guys house right now, even though I was waiting for him to call me to make sure it was still ok to go over. Amazing, isn't it!

I pulled out looking like I spilled Prego thick and chunky sauce all over...

Welp, here I go again! Time to update my blog! First off, as the three of you had probably noticed, I added the Firebird Conversion section located here: http://www.justinrocque.com/firebird/firebirdmain.html. For those other five billion who never check my site out anyway, there it is justin case you want to take a peek. I am working on the Knight Rider part of my site too, which will soon be up shortly and the conversion page will move into that part. I just realized I gotta finish up that y2k+4 thing because the year is almost about to fly over again. It's just insane how the years are going by these days; justin sane! ;-)

Nothing that much exciting happened last week or the one before that. I was mostly not working because I haven't gotten any phone calls and the one's I did never bothered to call ME back when I LEAVE them messages. How rude!

I made and appointment to speak to the academy coordiator guy and saw him this morning. I thought the academy was going to cost close to $6k+ but it's only around $2.6k, which is still too rich for my boat but, with some help, I may be able to get on board in February. I already signed up and paid for the TAB and that other test which tests your physical abilities or something. I'll get more into the academy stuff in a separate part of my site. Yea, that's right, I said separate part! I'm going to have a sub-site dedicated specifically for the academy and then police department in conjunction with a blog for those specific things. Maybe I will start working on that this weekend.

I just got my new chrome-plated center caps for my Firebird wheels in the mail today. As soon as I get a chance, I'll take a close-up pic of those. Now, all I'm waiting for is the money clip, steering wheel, coin holder, and tail light assembly.

Well, I would continue typing some other stuff but my sinuses were bein' a biatch all knight so I had to pop some pills which are about to take affect and...... I have to finish this PC I am still working on. :-(

Well, until next time,

Justin......

Oh, PS, about the title, well, let's just say it's something I kinda experienced but what it was will be remained classified, except for a select few people and they know who they are! ;-)

Time to dance my little fingers over the keyboard again!

Well.... it's been a long time since I updated this but I had other things I needed to take care of. Good news... my surprise has FINALLY come into affect on the last day of the security class, which was Friday, November 12. It went, quite well, actaully. I'm sure you all are wondering what it was and why it took so long so here it is...

I got me a 1990 Pontiac Firebird! This is the car I really wanted since I was a young lad (actaully any one between 1982-1990 but this one will do too!). I'm not going to get into the specifics of how I got it and all that stuff here; that will be devoted to another page in my site comming soon!

Now, a few days after that was another surprise...
Remember about that thing I wasn't too sure about in my last blog post? Well, I have decided to go into the "Last Resort" now. Before I get into that, let me just back up a bit in my life and what has gone on since then..... *beep* *beep* *beep* *beep*

As you know, I moved down here about 5 years ago from NY. As soon as I moved down and finished up my education to get my "Good Enough Diploma," I went to the Police Academy to see about joining the it because that's what I wanted to do since I was in NY. Because I had no drivers license yet (I was taking the bus in NY all the time, no need for a lic), I couldn't join the academy so the guy there insisted I take the "Intro to Private Investigation" course. I took that and my mind got switched a bit so I ended up taking all the available PI classes and criminal justice classes to become a PI. When I finally got my license and car, I became an intern for the Public Defenders Office in Fort Pierce. During the time I was in the class doing that, I got picked, along with 2 others, to work for a dude who was opening his own agency. I agreed to do that and yadda yadda, shit hit the fan so I quit, er resigned.

Out of a whim and needing money fast because I was almost dead broke, I decided to open up the www.dragonpctraining.com business. A year later went by and I realized I didn't want to persue this computer business full time; I liked playing with PC's as a hobby, not working on them and with them. So, because money was tight too and I wanted to get back to the criminal justice-type field, I decided to take the security officer class and get a license after that and work as a security officer at night and do the PC thing during the day. When I was in the class, I realized I was the youngest dude in there and the rest were 50-80+. Yadda yadda, I thought about going into security but the pay wasn't good enough to survive and I'd rather do something where I was more active and not just "sitting at a booth or gate letting people in." So... since I am 1 credit from the CJ degree, I decided to not throw away all the time and money it took for that education and put it to use..... so.... I've been thinking and realized I have been doing everything backwards kinda so.... I'm just going to go right into Law Enforcement because I know I will defenatly like the job, I will have more than enough money to support myself ($30,000+ a year), full benefits, possition increases and stuff, different jobs in the field, and more (well, not more, but you get the idea) importantly, after working there for a few years, I will have the experience I need to get my PI license and I don't need a security license if I want to do that later on too!

So, this is going to be a big step to take in my life, although all the steps I have been taking since I have been down here have been pretty big. It is going to be a fun ride and I can't wait to start it!

I'm going to end my blog update on that note and I'll keep you guys (only 4 of you, lol!) updated with more info soon and let you know when that other page will be up, along with other stuff!

Knight,

Justin

Good News! I just saved around 11% APR on my Credit Card payment!

Welp, I decided to just forget the whole chat thing for good this time. I know I said it last time but this time is the end. Is it really worth chatting to someone from way out of state? No. Is it worth going to chat rooms and finding people near me to chat with for a chance to meet them? No. Why bother going through like 20+ girls to see if they are "real" and not "bots" in the rooms when all I need to do is just go out to Walmart or someplace and find some there? I don't know.

So, that has something to do about last knight. I'm not going to bother to leave AIM on all the time anymore to see if anyone decides to want to chat with me because I know they won't; I am always the one who has to start the conversation and when I do, I have to be the one to talk to them because if I don't, they will get pissed and bitch at me for not talking to them. Is my life that exciting where I have so much to say after I spoke to them the day before? Hell no! Why do I always have to be the one to start a conversation anyway? Why can't THEY talk to ME? When I finish the other things I want to put on my site, a page with the chat conversations I had with most girls will be posted.

I also have some good news; I received a notice from my Capital One credit card company saying I can transfer a credit card account over to my Capital One card which has a whopping $300 limit and turn it into a $2300 limit if the account I am transfering is more than my limit on the CO card, which it was. So, I did that and now, instead of paying the 17.740% rate for the amount on my Bank Of America card, I am only paying 6.9% until June '07 on the CO card and after that it will be only 12.9%, which is still pretty lower than my other ones.

More good news....
My security class ends tomorrow. Just have to take the test and that's it. I will be able to get my license after that. But there is another thing about that which I am not sure about, which I will get into later on. It's not really bad news; it's just news.

Oh, the reason why I didn't update my blog at all last week was because I helped over 6 people in the mornings and had class at night so I was drained those days and also ended up sick by the end of the week but I am doing pretty good now.

Anywho, that's all going on for now.

Later,

Justin

Well, screw it then!

I was just looking at my college site (www.IRCC.edu) to see if the "Intro to Courts" class was available this spring; it is not so I am thinking about taking the "Intro to Law Enforcement" class to get the degree finished with by the summer but I only see "Live TV' available with the instructor I want to take so far so.. I am going to wait a bit and see who will be teaching the "TBA" (To Be Announced) classes.

-- Well, I'm just not in the mood anymore to continue this blog tonight for reasons I will probably write on here tomorrow. -- Let's just say I'm pretty disgusted with someone right now.

Knight,

Justin

Not enough hours in my day to update this damn thing!

WOW, have I been busy this week so far! I helped out two people today in the morning through the afternoon AND went to the security class at 5pm until around 9pm. It's like I haven't actaully been home until 10pm tonight and it's just great. I can't complain because I always bitched about wanting to stay out and not be home much so it's all good. I have someone to see tomorrow also and Friday and Thursday I will probably go back to Hutchinson Island and get back that laptop with all the spyware and viruses so I can restore everything back to a clean slate with the restore cd's which just came today. It's only close to 1:30a and I am pretty pooped. I think I'll be going to bed early tonight.

This weekend I helped my uncle unload stuff from the truck a few times because my cousin's moved back temporarily. During that process I thought I'd have to go to the emergency room again and waste another $400+ because I screwed my right arm up and couldn't bend it straight without it feeling as if my muscle was about to pop out. Lucky for me, with my own way of healing things, I managed to slowy straighten it out myself and it's all good now.

I'm waiting to see who one, ehem, won the election still. It looks like Bush but who knows. I have a feeling who it is but I don't want to ginks anything.

Anywho, that's it for tonight because I'm just about to pass out. Hopefully I will be able to do more shit with my site soon but we'll see.

Knight,

Justin

Well, at least that's a load off my ass!

I wasn't going to post anything today but I just had to say I finally paid off that ticket so that's a load off my ass and I don't have to stare at it sitting next to my printer anymore. I had to hand it in by the end of this week otherwise it will be too late and I'll have my license suspended.

Now I can enjoy next month of not paying for anymore advertising except for the newspaper ad. Also, when the Money Saver people credit my checking account and give me back my $265 they owe me because I did NOT approve them of putting my ad in their magazine again because I had canceled it a month before, I will be pretty damn happy. I called them about it on Monday and I have not received credit yet so another phone call will be made tomorrow. See the shit I have to put up with? It's a bitch.

Update on the surprise.....

Because of a major necessary delay, it will probably be delayed until the beginning of next week. It shouldn't be later than the middle of next week this time. This is certain.

Justin Rocque, the Security Guard?
Class starts this comming Monday for that Security class. It's 6-10pm for two weeks. After that I can apply for a "D" Security license and get a job doing that at knight and still be a computer consultant during the day. And like I said before, if the security thing does not work out, I must resort to the last resort.

I'm going to head to bed early tonight for reasons I will probably explain tomorrow in the week ending post.

Have a great knight,

Justin

Where's my damn sign?

Yep, it's been a while again, I know. Good news is I've started to work on the Y2K+4 update. That should be done by the end of this week. It is going to be the best essay yet! ;-)
I managed to pull in a decent amount of dough last week yet.... I have nothing to show for it again. I've decided to have no more ads except for the newspaper one because that is where I have been getting most of the clients from and the other ads have been eating me dry. I wanted to try and have a go with that big surprise last week but that has to hold off until the beginning of this week for reasons I cannot disclose right now because then it won't be a BIG surprise anymore! ;-) I know, I am just full of surprises!

Unforntunatly I had to work today so I didn't get to work on that essay or anything else for that matter except get a DVD burner. I made $100 and got a free printer/scanner though so that was cool!

Yep, I got a DVD burner. I was going to hold off on that for a while but I need to back up 13GB worth of stuff from someone's old hard drive. I'd rather back the stuff up to a few 4.7GB DVD's then over 20 700MB CD-R's. I went to Best Buy to see what they had and they had a bunch of crap ones and the other good ones were out of stock I guess; I don't know if they were or not but apparently nobody came over to ask me if I needed help when I've been in the isle for 15+ minutes, yet when I don't want to be bothered by anyone they all come out of the wood work.

I ended up going to Circuit Shitty and saw a Sony one there and got it, along with a 25 spindle of DVD-R's (Yes, there were DVD+R's but I don't know the different formats yet. Mainly it's because one drive maker came out with one standard and another came along and made another and it got all confused from there but if you get a DVD+-RW/+-R or if it says dual format compatible or something, you are safe. Funny.... I just looked at the bottom of the box and it reads:

Note:
PLEASE ACT RESPONSIBLY
Before copying anything onto a DVD+R/-R (and all the other formats it listed), please make sure you are not violating copyright laws.

HA!! I'll be sure I do that! I don't want to get caught by the copyright police.

I installed the DVD drive as a slave and had the jumper on it set as "CS" (Cable Select). I turned the PC on and it did just that; went on and stood there with a "-" on the upper left part of the screen. I was like "what the hell?" I turned the PC back off and tried it again; no go. I had to unscrew the case again (I thought there would be no problems so after I installed the drive, I screwed everything back in and stuck the PC back in the desk but, lucky me, problems always arise when I do the SIMPLEST things with a PC) and take a peeksy. It looked good from my end but I changed the jumper setting to "Slave" instead of the other one and cranked the PC back up. Still no go. "What the hell is wrong now?" I muttered. I turned the PC back off and decided to change the jumper of the "Master" drive to "Master" instead of "CS." I turned the baby back on and all was good.

Now it's time to install the software for the drive. I popped in the disc it came with in the top drive (the cd-rw one) and waited for something to happen. It span and nothing popped up. It also made a funny sound so I opened the drive and then closed it again. Nothing happened so I tried opening the cd drive from "My Computer." It didn't even show the name of the cd in the drive nor did it show anything on the cd. I took the cd out again and looked at it. To my surprise.. way on the bottom of the disc it read "DVD." It's only obvious why a DVD came with the DVD drive and not a CD so I didn't even go there. I put it in the new "DVD" drive I installed and... to my nonamazement, it worked! So, where the heck is my sign? For people who are reading this and don't know what I'm talking about... read this...

There are some people that should have to wear signs that just say, "I'm stupid."
That way you wouldn't rely on them would you? You wouldn't ask them anything. It would be like, "Excuse me...oops, never mind. I didn't see your sign."
It's like before my wife and I moved from Bay Shore to Coram...our house was full of boxes and there was a U-Haul truck in our driveway. My neighbor comes over and says, "Hey, You moving?" "Nope. We just pack our stuff up once or twice a week. Just to see how many boxes it takes.... Here's your sign."
Last summer I went fishing with a buddy of mine, we pulled his boat into the dock, I lifted up this big 'ol stringer of bass and this idiot on the dock goes, "Hey, y'all catch all them fish?" "Nope. Talked 'em into giving up..... Here's your sign."
I was watching one of those animal shows on the Discovery Channel, there was a guy inventing a shark bite suit. There's only one way to test that. "All right Jimmy, you got that shark suit on, it looks good...They want you to jump into this pool of sharks, and you tell us if it hurts when they bite you." "Well all right....hold my sign, I don't wanna lose it"
Last week I had a flat tire, so I pulled my truck into one of these side-of-the-road gas stations, the attendant walks out, looks at my truck, looks at me, and I SWEAR he said, "Tire go flat?" I couldn't resist. I said "Nope. No, I was driving around and those other three just swelled right up on me...... Here's your sign."
We were trying to sell our car about a year ago, a guy came over to the house, drove the car around for about 45 minutes. We get back to the house, he gets out of the car, reaches down and grabs the exhaust pipe, then goes, "Darn that's hot!" See.... If he'd been wearing his sign, I could have stopped him.

Anywho, it would be cool if I got the same amount of money as I did last week so I can pay off my one card before $300 get's dedected from it for the last installment of the shitty receipt paper ad. What a load of crock that was! I didn't realized until now I could get a LCD display for $100 more than that price! Damn! There is this whole week then next week and it's November already. Time sure is ticking! Then it's December and we all know what goes on there!

Well, I said a shit load tonight!

Time to call it a knight,

Justin
